Film and Videomaker Randy Caspersen presents his award winning documentary “Go Penguins!” and several of his short films/videos. “Go Penguins!” is a feature-length documentary that follows a theatre troupe’s journey to produce a Broadway-style musical featuring children and young adults with developmental disabilities in lead and ensemble roles.” – Artist Website

Following the presentation of “Pursuing the Autobiographical: The Films and Videos of Randy Jaspersen” there will be a Q&A Discussion.

Caspersen’s short films and videos have played festivals in over seventy film festivals on five different continents and have received distribution both nationally and internationally. He has two degrees in Film & Video Production–a BFA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and an MFA from Columbia College Chicago. He also worked in the television industry in Los Angeles. He makes films and videos with gay sensibilities that are autobiographical, musical, nostalgic or women-centered. He is currently an Assistant Professor at Northern Illinois University where he teaches film, television and video production as well as screenwriting in the Media Studies area of the Department of Communication.
