Oswego Opera to Present Baroque Opera
Oswego Opera will be presenting English composer Henry Purcell’s masterpiece Dido and Aeneas on Saturday, April 22, and Sunday, April 23, at 7:30 PM, in the Great Hall of the Church of the Resurrection, 120 W. 5th street in Oswego, NY. Tickets are $10 for general admission, and $5 for seniors and students.
The opera recounts the tragic love story between the queen of Carthage and the founder of Rome.
The performance will feature soprano Amanda Joseph in the role of Dido; Todd Graber as Aeneas; Elisabeth Kisselstein as Belinda; and SUNY Oswego’s StateSingers. The production will also feature well-known singers and dancers from the CNY area, with choreography by Dr. Ligia Pinheiro, and a professional ensemble.
